A-Round Privacy Policy

We’re building a trustworthy community, which means being transparent about what we collect and how we use it.

This policy isn’t about legal requirements; it’s cultural and is a dedication to our community.

Here’s our privacy policy in plain English.

What We Collect

  • Your name, email, LinkedIn profile, and any info you provide in applications, event forms, etc.
  • Basic engagement data, such as form submissions, event signups, community activity, etc.
  • Any other similar data we may collect as the community evolves.

Why We Collect It

  • To review requests to join and to onboard accepted members;
  • To coordinate events and community activities;
  • To improve the experience based on what’s working;
  • To email you relevant updates or invitations. By applying, you’re opting into these communications and can always opt out.

Which Tools We Use

We rely on third-party platforms to manage community participation. The following are the main tools we use.

  • Fillout – for applications and presentations;
  • Google Workspace and compatible apps (Calendar, Docs, Slides, etc.) – for coordination and moderation
  • WhatsApp, Discord – for real-time community discussion and events;
  • luma, Eventbrite, LinkedIn – for events;

These tools collect data under their own privacy policies. By participating, you agree to their terms as well.

What We Don’t Do

Monetize. If we decide to do so in the future, we will follow our already-stated monetization policy. To summarize it:

  • There will always be a valuable free tier.
  • We keep your PII private.
  • Everyone is opted out by default.

This is different than being opted in to communication relating to the orchestration of this community.

Your Opt-In Status

When you apply or participate in A-Round, you’re opting into:

  • Occasional emails about upcoming events, opportunities, and news
  • Optional messages to help you get more out of the platform

You can opt out of these messages at any time.

A Note About Change

As we grow, we will evolve. This policy may change without notice, but our goals won’t. By continuing to participate, you agree to the most current version of this policy and to protecting your fellow community members.
